Extension Privacy Policy

The short version

The KlipJar extension is built to collect nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no servers of ours. Everything happens in your browser, on your device.

No data collection

The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. There is no account and no login to the extension itself.

No KlipJar servers

The extension does not send anything to KlipJar or to any third party. When you download a video, requests go only to Instagram, Facebook, and their content-delivery networks — the same services your browser already contacts when you view the post.

Your own session

The extension uses the Instagram/Facebook session you are already logged into, only to read media you can already view. It never asks for, stores, or transmits your password or login credentials.

Permissions, and why

• host access to instagram.com, facebook.com, and their media CDNs — to read the media on the page you are viewing. No other sites are accessed.
• downloads — to save the file you choose, to your device.
• storage — to remember your batch queue between clicks (kept locally on your device).
• tabs / scripting — to know which Instagram/Facebook page you are on and read its media when you click the icon.

Local only

Any queue you build is stored locally in your browser and never leaves your device. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
