Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not know who you are. There is no account to create, no email address to hand over, and no profile of you anywhere in this system. We cannot see what you download, because the download never touches us.

What we do not collect

• No accounts, no names, no email addresses, no passwords.
• No payment details — the site is free and there is nothing to pay.
• No tracking pixels, no beacons, no fingerprinting, no third-party analytics of any kind.
• No advertising or social-network scripts. As things stand the site loads no third-party code at all.
• No history of the links you paste, and no record of the files you download.

What our server logs contain

Like any web service, the extraction API keeps ordinary request logs. A line records the time, the request method and path, the response status, the client IP address, and — for an extraction — the platform hostname involved (for example tiktok.com) plus how many downloadable files were found.

The link you paste travels in the request body and is not written to the logs. Neither is the title of the post, the name of whoever made it, or anything else about it. Query strings are stripped from the logged path for the same reason.

The IP address is there for exactly one purpose: rate limiting, so that a single automated client cannot take the service down for everybody. Logs are short-lived — they rotate away as new ones arrive and are not archived. They are never mined, profiled, sold or joined to anything else.

Downloads never pass through us

When you press Download, your browser fetches the file directly from the platform’s content delivery network. The bytes travel from the platform to your device. They never reach our servers, so we could not inspect, store or log the video even if we wanted to. Thumbnails work the same way — your browser loads them from the platform, not from this origin.

When a download needs separate audio and video joined, or converting to MP3, that work happens inside your own browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere to make it happen.

Storage on your device

KlipJar does not use cookies.

Nothing else is written to your device either — no local storage, no session storage, no identifiers of any kind. Your light or dark preference is held in the page’s memory while the tab is open and disappears when you close it, which is why the site goes back to following your system setting on your next visit.

Advertising

There is no advertising on the site today and no advertising code is loaded. That is likely to change: KlipJar is free, hosting is not, and advertising is how a free tool stays free.

When it changes, the owner’s approved ad provider will be able to process some information about your visit — typically your IP address, an approximate location and details about your browser or device — under its own privacy policy. This page will be updated to name that provider and describe what it does before any of their code is loaded on the site, not afterwards.

Your rights, and how to reach us

Rights over personal data — access, correction, deletion, objection — only bite where personal data exists. We hold no account, no profile and nothing that identifies you, so in practice there is nothing of yours here to hand over or erase.
