What KlipJar is

KlipJar is a link tool. You paste the address of a public post, KlipJar asks the platform which files that post publishes, and it hands the direct addresses back to your browser. Your browser then fetches the file from the platform’s own servers.

That distinction is the whole design, so it is worth stating plainly: KlipJar does not host, store, cache, re-upload or serve any video, image or audio. No media file passes through this site, and no copy of anything is kept here.

There are no accounts, no signups and nothing to pay. Nothing on the site is gated behind a plan, and we will never charge you to download a file.

What you may use KlipJar for

KlipJar is for downloading content you have the right to save — your own posts, content you have permission to use, or content in the public domain. Respect copyright.

Having a copy of someone else’s work does not give you any right to it. Re-uploading a creator’s video, running ads against it, selling it or passing it off as your own is not made lawful by the fact that a tool exists, and it is not something we can help with.

Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for what you download and for everything you do with it afterwards. In particular, you agree that:

• you will comply with the terms of service of whichever platform the post came from — those terms are between you and them, and KlipJar is not a party to them;
• you will comply with the copyright law that applies where you are, including whatever it does and does not allow as private or personal copying;
• you will not use downloaded content in a way that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
• you will not use KlipJar to harvest other people’s work in bulk — for republication, for resale, or for building a dataset out of it.

Public content only

KlipJar reads only what a logged-out visitor can already see. It never signs in, never uses an account, never supplies a token or a password, and never tries to get around a login wall, a privacy setting, an age gate or any technical protection measure. When a post is private, restricted, deleted or region-locked the request fails and you get a clear error — that is the design, not a gap we intend to close.

YouTube is not supported and will not be added.

Keeping the service available

Requests are rate-limited per visitor so that one automated client cannot spoil the site for everyone else. We may slow down, block or refuse requests that look like scraping, abuse, or an attempt to overload the service, and we may do so without notice. Please do not try to work around those limits.

Not aimed at children

KlipJar is a general-purpose utility for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from children, and neither the site nor any advertising it may carry in future is targeted at them. If the site does carry advertising later, it will be ordinary general-audience advertising.

No warranty

KlipJar is provided free of charge, as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind. We do not promise that the site will be online, that a particular link will work, that a platform will keep publishing files in a form we can read, or that the qualities offered are the best a post has. Platforms change constantly, and some days something breaks.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of your use of the site or of anything you downloaded through it. If you are unhappy with the service, the remedy is to stop using it.

Changes to these terms

These terms will change as the service changes. When they do, the revised text is posted on this page and the date at the bottom changes with it. Carrying on using the site after that means the new version applies to you. There is no notification list, because we do not have your address.
