How to save videos on Android straight from the share menu
On Android you can skip copy and paste entirely: share a post to KlipJar and it is ready to save. Here is how that works, where the files end up, and how to install the app safely.
The two-tap way
- Install the free KlipJar app from klipjar.com/android (it is not on Google Play yet; the steps below cover installing it safely).
- In TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Pinterest or Reddit, tap Share on the post and pick KlipJar from the list. If you do not see it, tap More at the end of the row.
- KlipJar opens with the link already filled in. Pick a quality and tap Download. The download keeps going in the background, with a progress notification.
Prefer the website? It works the same way in Chrome on Android: copy the link, paste it on klipjar.com, and the file goes to your Downloads folder.
Where the files go
Videos saved by the app go to Movies/KlipJar and audio to Music/KlipJar, through Android’s own media storage. They show up in your gallery app and in the app’s Library tab. The app does not ask for access to your other files.
Installing an app from outside Google Play, safely
- Only download the APK from klipjar.com/android. The page lists the version and a SHA-256 checksum, so you can confirm the file is exactly the one we published.
- Android will ask you to allow your browser to install unknown apps. That setting is per app; you can turn it off again afterwards in Settings → Apps → Special app access.
- Let Google Play Protect scan the app if it offers to. Never turn Play Protect off to install anything.
- Every KlipJar release is signed with the same key, so newer versions install over older ones and keep your settings.
What the app can access
No account, no ads and no analytics or tracking libraries. It sees a link only when you share or paste one, sends that link to klipjar.com to find the file, and posts two kinds of notification: download progress and “saved”. The full detail is in the Android app privacy policy.
